Established in 1997, the „Ioan Lupaș” Research Center is a research unit subordinated to the Faculty of Orthodox Theology within the „Babeș-Bolyai” University of Cluj-Napoca.
Since 2010 it has been accredited as a research unit of excellence. The director of the Center is, at the moment, Father Prof. Ioan Chirilă.
Under the auspices of the center, several dozen national or international academic activities have taken place over time and several prestigious scientific volumes have been published.
